Isaiah 40
31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint (ASV)
This is one of the first Bible verses I memorized as child; I remember my mom helped me learn it in the kitchen of our home. It took me some time to memorize it but I have used it over and over in my life. It was not until later in my life that I took this passage as a weekly devotion. I have used it for inspiration at least 3 times over the years, and still come back to this passage over and over.
Isaiah 40
28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint (ASV)
Over past year there been so many times that I have seen where my strength has ended and He was there to carry me on. It was hard when those times came; I wanted to stop each time but would remember my mom encouraged me not to stop but keep the first part of verse 31 in mind, “but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength”. I have taken this verse with me from an afternoon in the kitchen with my mom learning a Bible verse at the age of 7 to the afternoon my dad calls and tells me Mike was in an accident. I would then take the promise that God has given us here in Isaiah 40:28-31. He has been there every time; He never grows tired or weary in my times of need. I hope you take this passage and depend on God for the strength you need.
If you feel that God has laid something on your heart and would like to post it e-mail it to me.
